About Us

Krause Health and Safety is a family owned RTO that has been serving Mount Isa and the surrounding regions for more than 20 Years in both nationally accredited training and safety consultancy.

Beginning early 2021, Krause Health and Safety is looking to expand its operations to South East Queensland, with a training facility based in Brisbane South opening in January, eager to provide quality training to our students.

About the role

We are currently seeking a full-time qualified Trainer and Assessor with previous mining, construction and/or heavy industry experience. You will be required to treat all of our students, customers, clients and staff in a positive, professional and mutually respectful manner at all times.

We are currently seeking a:

• Full-time qualified Trainer and Assessor

The candidate will have previous mining, construction and/or heavy industry experience, and you will be required to treat all of our students, customers, clients and staff in a positive, professional and mutually respectful manner at all times.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Facilitation of training in a wide variety of areas including but not limited to:
  • Short Courses:
    • Working at heights
    • Confined space
    • Site safety representative/ Supervisor course (S1, S2, S3)
    • Fire and Apply first aid
    • Provide First aid
    • CPR and Low voltage rescue (LVR)
    • Fire warden
• Qualifications (Construction):
  • Certificate I in Construction
  • Certificate III in Carpentry
• Roll up and scan training material into our electronic database
• Assist in mapping and development of training material
• Review/evaluate training programs
• Review/evaluate assessment processes
• Keep accurate record of student attendance
• Assist in the development and reviewing of company procedures
• Maintain and service training material and resources
• Set priorities with your work, meet deadlines and work accurately under conflicting time pressures
• Develop business leads and opportunities within industry and network of employer/organisation contacts
• Participate in weekend training where necessary (half a day every 6 weeks)
  • Occasionally we may have training out of town in several different locations for periods of up to 5 days, this is usually a few times a year and rotated between the trainers as much as possible, extra pay incentive will be offered for this work

The Successful Candidate will have:

• TAE40116 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (Required)
• Certificate IV in Workplace health & Safety (Highly regarded but not a necessity)
• Strong industry connections/network (Highly regarded but not a necessity)
• Previous supervisory or safety experience
• A minimum of an intermediate level of computer skills to work within our E-learning platform and student management system
• For short courses:
  • 2+ Years of Mining or heavy industry experience
• For our Construction qualifications:
  • Experience as a qualified tradesperson with minimum 2 years in construction industry
  • Construction qualification equivalent to Certificate III or above
• Evidence of industry currency and professional development as a trainer or ability to map/log these as required
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the confidence to deliver established training programs to students
• A positive attitude and desire to help others learn and succeed
• The willingness to work as part of a team and ‘pitch in’ wherever needed
